14 Days Of Valentines For Your Husband

14 Days Of Valentines For Your Husband

My husband is my best friend. Even after being married for 4 years, I am SO in LOVE with him! Growing up, I loved reading marriage and relationship books. I even wanted to be a marriage counselor and got my degree in Psychology! Because of that I gathered all sorts of tips and created this 14 days of valentines for your husband!

Let me say that after having two kids, our marriage is stronger than ever. When I see or friends who are not in a loving marriage it breaks my heart. I want everyone to have a strong and wonderful marriage. So I came up with a challenge for 14 days to strengthen your marriage!

Remember, your husband should be your #1 human relationship. You need to love, respect, and LIKE him too πŸ˜‰ He should be your best friend and your team mate!

Life is busy with work and kids (if you have some), so don’t feel like you have to do the days in order. Feel free to switch the days around to fit your schedule better.

14 Days of Valentines Challenge

Day 1

Text your husband.

Pray for your husband, dream, and think about your husband throughout the day. Send him a text to let him know he is on your mind! If your husband likes to get on social media, you could even add a little post on there about how much you love and appreciate him (Don’t forget to tag him if you can)!

Day 2

Respond positively.

As wives, we are to love and respect our husbands. When we make a negative comment, or nag, that is NOT loving or respectful. Let’s consciously respond with kindness and gentleness no matter what he says or asks.

Day 3

Help Your husband.

What can you do to help your husband? Make his lunch for him for work? Help him with an oil change? Find something to help his work load a little easier. It can be a big project or a small daily task.

Day 4

Respect Your Husband.

Do you respect your husband when he isn’t around? Do you make fun of or talk negatively about your husband behind his back? You should always talk positively about him (especially around your girl friends or co-workers). Never talk badly about your husband.

Day 5

Show physical affection.

You probably saw this one coming πŸ˜‰ Don’t limit this with just sex. You can do a bunch of other things like kissing, holding hands, back massage, and hugging.

Day 6

Compliment him.

Telling him verbally is a great way to compliment him, but go the extra mile with writing a letter about how great he is. Maybe even write out things you like about him on sticky notes and put them around the house. You could place them on his steering wheel, mirror, in his lunch bag, etc.

Day 7

Make or buy him a gift.

It doesn’t have to be anything expensive. It could be as simple as buying his favorite candy bar to let him know how much you love him.

Day 8

Spend time with him.

What does he like to do? If he likes to watch sports, wear his favorite team’s attire and watch with him. If he likes to read, cuddle up next to him and read too!

Day 9

Ask how you can make his day better.

Has it been awhile since he hung out with his buddies? Encourage him to go out and have fun! Or you could brighten his day by simply doing a chore he doesn’t like to do.

Day 10

Cook his favorite meal.

Don’t stop with just making his favorite dish! Get the candles, the china, and table cloth out and make it fancy. Put some music on and maybe enjoy some dancing πŸ™‚

Day 11

Go out on a date.

Have fun with your spouse! Do something you love together. It can be as simple as dinner and a movie. Or if you two like to be active go bowling or mini golfing! Going on a walk or star-gazing is pretty romantic too πŸ˜‰

Day 12

Dress up for him.

Wear something he thinks looks really good on you. If you are a stay at home mom, put on some makeup and wear a cute outfit.

Day 13

Talk about goals & dreams.

Turn the phone, TV, laptops, and any distractions off to focus on him and only him. Talk about what goals and dreams your husband has. You could write them out or maybe you could create a vision board together.

Day 14

Go back memory lane.

Look through old pictures of you two. You could even put some up around the house for your husband to see. Watching old videos is a fun one too. By the way, go ahead and snap a picture of you two today!

Hopefully you got some ideas and enjoyed the 14 days of valentines challenge πŸ˜‰ Keep in mind that you could keep this going beyond 14 days! I know I try to do so, and it really strengthened my husband and I’s bond. He tells me how much he appreciates how I intentionally go out of my way to make his day better.

Do you have special things you do with your husband? What is your ideal date?

  • I seriously love this list! Each task is so simple, but so meaningful! I think I’m going to print it out and try to do it every month from here on out! πŸ™‚ Started with day one today!

    • Thank you Danielle! I try to do these things often, and figured it would be a great idea for a challenge for others. I hope this helps you strengthen your marriage with your husband, and I hope this will be fun for you to do πŸ™‚

  • I love this idea!! What I love even more is that each thing you’ve listed is sooo simple, yet can mean so much to your husband!! Several of these things I already do on a daily basis πŸ™‚ I always make sure my hubby has a balanced & healthy lunch because he works long days so I can be home with our children. I also send him random pictures of our daughter so he can feel like he is part of our day, too! I’ve also sent him to work with various picture frames and make him a photo calendar every year for Christmas so he can enjoy seeing all of our fun memories and trips together while he is away from home! It’s so important to make our husbands a priority and I know I can definitely do better! Thanks for all the great ideas and happy Valentine’s Day!

    • Gwendolyn, the photo calendar is a great idea! I also love that you pack his lunch and send random pictures of your daughter. You are such an inspiration πŸ™‚

  • Although these all seem super simple, each can make a difference in a marriage. Sometimes it’s just the little things that mean the most.

  • I make it a point to never bad mouth my husband in front of anyone. We have a great relationship and I never have any reason to do that anyways but it is a good point to remember. Sometimes we do get busy with our phones and that is something we have to intentionally work on. I appreciate this list because it is something we can constantly work on . Thank you for your post Raheela
