How To Organize Your Clothes – Socks, PJ’s, &UnderGarments –

Let’s move on to part 4 of organizing your clothes! In this post we will organize and declutter the last bit of smaller clothing items like underwear, socks, bras, and pajamas.

Take a look at what other smaller clothing items you have. If you have scarves, tights, and camisoles, they can be included in this category.

If you missed reading about organizing other clothing items you can find them here→ Tops (Part 1), Bottoms (Part 2), & Dresses/One Piece (Part 3).

How to organize your clothes including socks, pj's, and undergarments.

Step 1

Pull out every single clothing that you haven’t organized yet. This includes your undergarments and pajamas. Go ahead and get out tights, scarves, camisoles, and any other items you may have. Once you have everything make sure to separate them into categories.

Step 2

After separating your undergarments and pajamas into categories, start holding each item and go through the keep checklist. This will help you determine what to keep. Make sure to separate them into the 4 different piles that I mention in How To Organize Your Tops which are KEEP, SELL, DONATE/RECYCLE, and TRASH.

Step 3

Now that you know what you want to keep and what to get rid of let’s put our keep pile back in order. Socks, underwear, tights, and bras should be placed in a drawer neatly folded. You can use shoe boxes or drawer organizers to make them look neat.

First Time Using The KonMari Method

This was my sock drawer the very first time I used the konmari method to organize. Since then I have gotten rid of more socks and only have about 10 pairs.

With underwear and pajamas, I kept getting new ones every year but never discarded any. It was time to just keep the PJ’s and underwear that I loved and get rid of the rest. I have gotten (2019 fourth year of using the KonMari method) to the point where I only have 2 pairs of nice winter and 2 pairs of summer pajamas.

Just in the first year of using the KonMari method, I got rid of 6 trash bags of clothes! My dresser drawers and closet look much better and open in a refreshing way.

Do you have a lot of undergarments? How do you keep them organized?
