Simple and Easy Cleaning Schedule

Simple and Easy Cleaning Schedule

Do you only clean when things get messy or out of hand? If you want more calm in your home and to actually enjoy cleaning, then a cleaning schedule might be for you!

Cleaning schedules don’t have to be complicated, time consuming, or overwhelming. I will share my cleaning schedule that is really simple and easy to follow.

Pick Your Designated Cleaning Days

If you have read my Stay-at-home schedule then you will know that I take 3 days out of the week to stay at home and focus on homemaking. The other 2 days are when I go out and do errands and play dates. Since I have 3 days (sometimes just 2, depending on the week) that I stay home, I assign certain cleaning tasks to those 3 days.

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are my stay at home days. Some weeks I go out depending on doctor appointments or my moms group, but for the most part it’s pretty consistent.

Mondays are my favorite to stay home and clean. It’s a great way to get your week started and feel great!

Divide Your Cleaning Tasks

Write out what you must clean everyday on paper, then write out what you need to clean weekly, monthly, and yearly.

Personal Example:
Everyday: Dishes, wiping down counters
Weekly: Bathrooms, Floors, Dusting, Laundry (for now I do twice a week)
Monthly: Around the house cleaning I assigned for the month like windows, oven, etc….
Yearly: Can be home maintenance things

Once you list out what needs to be done weekly, assign them to days of the week that you want to designate as your cleaning days.

Personal Example:
Monday: Dishes, Laundry, Bathrooms
Tuesday: Dishes, Floors (vacuum/mop)
Wednesday: Dishes
Thursday: Dishes, Laundry, Dusting or anything that I notice that needs cleaning
Friday: Dishes

Divide Big Cleaning Projects By Months

There are some things that you only need to clean every couple of months, twice a year, or once a year. List out all of those things and write them down in your yearly calendar. I like to get a big 12 month calendar where I write down what items need to get cleaned during certain months.

These cleaning projects could be washing your pillows, dusting ceiling fans, wiping baseboards down, and so on. Personally I have January as windows, curtains, and blinds listed. For February I have washing pillows, light switches, ceiling fans, etc.

Live Stress Free

By simply delegating days that you clean, cleaning won’t be an over whelming experience for you. Put the music on, hair-up, and clean your house. When you have a plan and execute it you will be on top of cleaning and find the time to actually enjoy doing what you want! Plan your cleaning days and you will have more time!

Have Fun

Want to make cleaning more fun? Make a play list, listen to a podcast or sermon, or beat the timer. Even if you don’t feel like cleaning, set the timer for 10 min. You will be amazed with how much you can get done.

Cleaning Products

Another way you can feel good while cleaning is being intentional with your cleaning products. Did you know that the chemicals in some cleaning products are harmful to you? I started switching to products that are more natural and less harmful. Once I run out of a cleaning product, I have been switching to a DIY Non-Toxic cleaner.

Cleaning Tips

Want to get tips and get inspiration for cleaning? Check out TurtleDove Cleaning Services! Not only do they have their own cleaning products (which I use and love), but they have an Instagram page where they share tips and natural cleaning recipes too!

The TurtleDove Cleaning Service’s cleaning products smell great and gets things clean. I especially like using the Multi-Purpose Cleaner. After I clean my bathrooms I will spray this on my toilet brushes, plunger, potty for potty training, and let them sit. It cleans them with little effort and freshens them up!
