Toys
Kitchen Accessories
Last Christmas we got my daughter (2 years old at the time) a play kitchen and she still plays with it everyday. She also loves the toys that goes with her kitchen like the pots and pans that I will list right below. These pots even comes with a stand so you can neatly organize them!
Dress-Up
Dress-up clothes are still a huge hit for my 3 year old. This year we are getting her a Moana dress for Christmas.
Magnetic Tiles
Magnetic tiles are probably one of the more popular toys right now. The ones I linked down below are for the 64 piece and about half the price. Just think, less pieces means easier clean up 😉
Baby Dolls
Baby dolls and accessories like stroller, clothes, and bed get played with a lot by my daughter.
Barbie
Barbie is a hit or miss with my daughter. She doesn’t play with her Barbie everyday, but she does like to change her outfits every once in awhile. She may get more into it later on. Barbie is on her wish list this year though!
Magnetic Dress-up
Magnets are a good quiet time activity for my child.
String A Farm
Reusable Sticker Pad
Reusable sticker pads are something I list on the gift list for 2 year olds too, but my 3 year old still loves playing with them.
Color By Numbers
Unicorn Up & Down Roller Coaster
Have lots of space in your house? This toy always looked so fun when I would see my friends have their littles playing on it.
Fine Motor Hedgehog
Sit n’ Spin
Our church has this in the toddler nursery and the kids love playing on this!
Board Games
Board games are so much fun with the whole family. The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game is my 3 year old’s favorite game right now. It’s really simple and we play it pretty often.
Books
5 minute story books are read pretty often in our house. It’s just the right length for your 3 year old to pay attention.
Movies
Current obsession for my daughter is anything Disney or Veggie Tales.
Puzzles
Beauty Salon Play Set
If you have a daughter who likes to play with her doll’s hair, this might be perfect for her.
Bath Toys
Bath time is still huge for my 3 year old. She loves bubbles and the cool water toys for bath time.
Kinetic Sand
This kinetic sand feels amazing. Honestly it’s kind of therapeutic to just hold some in your hand. Not only will your three year old love this, adults like it too 😉
Play Kitchen
Since my 3 year old still loves playing with her kitchen every single day I felt like I had to add this to the list. This one is also from KidsKraft which is the brand we have, but this one I list fits into corners and has a washer machine on there too! How cute!
Leap Frog Leap Pad
My friend was telling me about this and how her 3-year-old son loves this! I can’t wait to get this for my daughter for Christmas.
Tablet
There are some really fun and educational apps for littles these days. I’ve been using my i-pad to let my daughter use her apps, but it is not child proof so I only let her use it on the couch by the carpet with supervision. These tablets are childproof and less expensive than an i-pad. Great for traveling or when you just need your child to stay occupied so you can get some chores done.
Outdoor Toys
Sand Table
Many moms have told me they hate when their child plays in the sand box because it gets sand everywhere, but I haven’t had any issues with the sand table. My 3-year-old loves to play with sand and use her imagination.
Bucket
It’s amazing how a simple bucket can keep your 3-year-old entertained. My 3-year-old uses her bucket to play with the sand, water, and to collect acorns, leaves, and sticks when we go on a walk. Very inexpensive and can be used all year around! I’ll post a link below but you can get them at the dollar store too.
Scooter
Our friends have scooters and let my daughter borrow it sometimes. She isn’t good at it yet, but she loves riding on them.
Bike
Slide
This slide can be used indoor or outdoor. We currently have our slide in the living room. It’s so much fun!
Garden Tools
If you as the parent love to garden then this will be perfect for your 3 year old!
Crafts
I made sure to include a lot of ideas for craft gifts because my 3 year old LOVES craft time. Plus, it keeps them engaged for a really long time and they feel proud and confident when they complete a project!
New Markers & Crayons
There is just something about opening up a new box of crayons! If you have a bunch of broken crayons or markers that are dried out go ahead and get your child a fresh new box.
Paint Brushes
If you do a lot of painting, even if it’s just the just add water paint books, it is nicer to use quality paint brushes than the free plastic ones.
Smocks
Since I added paint brushes you probably guessed I was going to include smocks too! Smocks are just really nice to have to avoid paint and other stains getting on your kid’s clothing.
Coloring Books
Stained Glass
Tape Activity Book
Dry Erase Activity Book
Magic Pad
Sticker Activity Book
Scissor Skills Activity Book
Make sure your child is ready for this first. If you child just turned 3, he or she may not be ready yet. This activity book includes a pair of child-safe scissors.
Ready, Set, Paste!
What little kid doesn’t like to glue things? You can easily just do a DIY craft by getting glue sticks and construction paper too 😉
Temporary Tattoos
Tattoos are pretty cheap and make great stocking gifts. My toddler loves to stick on an occasional tattoo. We like to hand them out as party favors too!
Play-Doh Accessories
If your 3-year-old loves to play with play-doh why not get some accessories to add more fun? Or they have some really cool sets these days!
No Mess Coloring Pad
No mess! I repeat, NO MESS!!!
Paint With Water
All you need is water and your little one can paint away! The paint is already on each page.
Water Wow
Water wow’s are reusable and no mess! Just add water to the paint brush and you’re good to go. I like to pack these along for when we are at church or waiting at a restaurant.
Scratch Art
Paper Bag Puppets
One of the crafts that my 3 year old made during craft time was a paper bag puppet. She absolutely LOVED making one so I knew I had to include this on the gift guide.
Lace & Trace
We have some of these and it keeps my daughter focused for a long time!
Pop Stick Art
Color By Dots
Something Of Their Own
Sleeping Bag
Since we like to visit family a lot we got sleeping bags for each child. They have some really cute ones these days 🙂
Mugs
My family likes to drink a lot of tea and hot chocolate so we have mugs for each of our girls. They love drinking out of their mugs.
Backpack
Backpacks come in handy for traveling, day trips, and for church. We use our backpacks several times a week.
Notebook
Just plain note books get used a lot since my 3 year old loves to draw and color. Sometimes she just likes to stick stickers on the blank pages too.
Water Bottle
Water bottles get used around the house and whenever we go out for a play date or church. I also like to add a name sticker on their water bottles so it won’t get lost in nursery.
Outdoor chair
Does an older sibling have soccer games? These are perfect for your child! Even to take along for a camping trip so the whole family can sit around the camp fire.
Toothbrush & Tooth paste
Great practical stocking gift idea right here! I only have 2 kids, but they each have their own toothbrush and toothpaste in a cup by their bathroom sink. I usually try to get their favorite characters on them if they are available.
Sleep Training Alarm Clock
Maybe this gift is more for the parents, but this is on our gift list this year. As soon as it’s OK for your child to get out of bed the color will change on the clock. Whoever thought of this is a genius! 😉
Jewelry
My 3 year old has a couple of necklaces she likes to wear to church. It’s really cute seeing how they feel fancy 😉
Experience Gifts
If your 3 year old already has a lot of toys, then experience gifts are a great idea. Check to see what is in your area and get tickets or passes for things that the 3 year old in your life loves to do or will love to do or see.
- Movies
- Aquarium / SeaQuest
- Kids Museum
- Chuck E Cheese
- Disney World
- Putt-putt
- Classes like Ballet or Karate
What will you be getting for your 3 year old? What are some of their favorite toys or gifts?
I love this lost, you just gave me tons of ideas for my little nieces
Thank you, Amy! I hope your nieces love their gifts 🙂
Exxellent list of ideas. I love doing experience gifts. We’re planning on a trip to Disney World in the next few years!
Thank you Stephanie! Experience gifts are definitely my favorite to give 🙂
I love this list. I have a three year old and shopping for her this Christmas just got easier with this list. I pinned it so that I can refer back to it when I actually start shopping.
Thank you Kelli! I really appreciate your love and support on this post 🙂
There are some awesome ideas on here! I recently did a post about gifting your kids memories which I saw that you touched on. I love giving them new experiences! What are your favorite memory gifts?
Thanks for posting!
Thank you Hannah! My favorite memory gift so far is SeaQuest for my girls. They love that they can interact with the animals! We also live really close by so we go there pretty often! 🙂
